To give her a little gift on her special day: create a lasting memory of this wonderful time by preserving her baby's footprints in salt dough. You probably already have everything you need for this quick Mother's Day craft idea at home.
You will need the following materials:
200 g flour
100 g salt
100 ml water
Acrylic paint or watercolour
Letter stamps (if you want)
Instructions:
To make the salt dough, mix the flour and salt together. Then add the water and knead the dough until it is smooth. If your dough sticks, you can add a little more flour.
Now roll out your dough on a work surface covered with flour. If you like, you can cut out a large heart or circle for the footprints.
Work with your child to gently press their hands and/or feet into the dough until a visible imprint appears. Add a small hole at the top if you want to hang up your work of art afterwards. You can also press your child's name into the dough with letter stamps or carefully engrave it with a toothpick.
The salt dough needs a few days in a warm place to dry. When it is completely dry, you can paint it with acrylic paint or watercolour.

For the bath salts, mix 300 g of salt with 1 tbsp of almond oil. Then add 10 to 15 drops of essential oil to make everything smell nice. Now add a few flower petals to the mixture and pour it into a jar.
To make a homemade scrub, mix 6 tablespoons of sugar with 3 tablespoons of sea salt. Next, add 2 tbsp almond oil and stir well. To complete your scrub, you can add flower petals. Finally, pour everything into a small jar.

Mother's Day crafting: Trash to Terracotta Vase

Materials for the Trash to Terracotta Vase:
Old glass bottle
Acrylic paint
Baking powder
Paintbrush
Sponge
Thread
Instructions for the homemade Mother's Day vase:
First clean the inside and outside of your bottle with dish soap and then dry it well.
To get the rough terracotta effect, mix 3 bags of baking soda with approx. 100 g of acrylic paint. Tip: If you want a rougher look, add some more baking powder.
Now coat the glass bottle with your paint mixture. You may need to apply several coats to complete the look. Always allow the bottle to dry completely between layers.
To enhance the terracotta effect, dab on the last layer of colour with a sponge.
To finish, decorate your vase with a ribbon and place a bouquet inside.
Mother's Day Gift DIY: Natural wood-look vase
This vase is the perfect craft idea for anyone who likes to work with natural materials and/or likes a natural look. If you want to make this idea together with your child for Mother's Day, you can of course add a little more colour by letting your child paint the wooden sticks beforehand.

Old (tinned) glass
Hot glue
Round wooden sticks or ice cream sticks
Acrylic paint (if you want)
Instructions for this craft idea for Mother's Day:
First rinse out the old glass thoroughly and dry it well.
Then use a preheated hot glue gun to attach the wooden sticks to the jar one by one. Make sure that the bottom of the sticks is level with the bottom of the glass so that your vase stands well.
Let everything dry completely and your quick Mother's Day gift is ready.
