Ingredients needed for 10 puff pastry mummies:
550 g fresh puff pastry
10 (vegetarian) sausages
Tomato ketchup
Mayonnaise
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C on upper/lower heat.
2. Roll out the fresh puff pastry on a work surface and then spread some tomato ketchup on it.
3. Cut the puff pastry into approx. 1 cm wide strips to make small bandages for the mummies
4. Wrap 1 or 2 puff pastry strips around the sausages and leave a small gap for the eyes.
5. Place the wrapped sausages on a piece of grease proof paper on a baking tray and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes until they have become golden brown.
6. After the wrapped sausages have been left to cool, you can use a piping bag with mayonnaise to make the eyes for the mummies. Alternatively, you could also use small edible sugar eyes.
A fruity Halloween snack: monster apples
This is a sweet Halloween snack and it contains some healthy vitamins as well. They are an ideal snack for children at Halloween parties.
Ingredients for 12 monster apples:
3 green apples
1 Lemon
Peanut butter
1 pack of unsalted peanuts
12 marshmallows
Chocolate spread
Method:
1. Firstly, rinse and dry the apples. Now, remove the stalk and the apple core, which can be done with an apple corer.
2. Cut the apples into quarters and make a large cut on the skin on the side. This will be used later as a mouth on the monster apples.
3. Coat the large cut thickly with peanut butter and then press the peanuts into it to form the monster's teeth.
4. Rub around the large cut with some lemon juice so that they stay fresher for longer.
5. Put some chocolate spread onto the marshmallows to make the big pupils. Now, using a toothpick put the marshmallow eyes in the middle of the apple wedges.
Tip: If you have a bit more time on your hands, you can coat the monster apples with some melted chocolate. Break up a couple of pieces of dark chocolate and put them into a small bowl. Now put the small bowl over a pan with hot water and gently stir until the chocolate has melted. Once the chocolate has melted you need to leave it a couple of minutes to cool down. Now you can use it to carefully paint some pupils onto the eyes.
Halloween themed food: spooky Halloween pizza
Pizzas are an absolute party food favourite. This Halloween pizza with some scary ghost shapes not only looks unique, but they are also deliciously spooky.
Ingredients for 2 pizzas:
Dough:
350 g flour
200 ml water
21 g yeast or 7 g dried yeast
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 pinch of sugar
Sauce:
250 g passata
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 tsp olive oil
1 – 2 garlic cloves
1 small onion
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
½ tsp rosemary
½ tsp thyme
Salt and pepper
Toppings:
1 – 2 packs of mozzarella
1 jar of pitted black olives
Some grated cheese
Other optional ingredients include - salami, peppers etc.
Method:
First, prepare the pizza dough. If you don't have a lot of time, you can also buy ready-made pizza dough and organic tomato puree.
Halloween pizza dough:
1. Measure out 200 ml of water in a measuring cup and then crumble the yeast into it and add 1 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of sugar. Leave the mixture to rise for around 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Put 350 g of flour into a bowl, add 2 tbsp of olive oil and pour in the yeast mixture. Then mix the dough for about 5 minutes with a hand mixer using a dough hook (or knead by hand for about 10 minutes). Knead the dough for a few more minutes until it becomes smooth.
3. Cover the dough with a clean tea towel and leave it to rise in a warm place for about 30 to 40 minutes.
Whilst waiting for the dough to rise, you can move onto preparing the pizza sauce
Halloween pizza sauce:
1. Finely dice the onion and garlic cloves.
2. Mix all the ingredients and herbs (to taste) together in a bowl and blend with a hand blender until smooth. Season the sauce with some salt and pepper.
Finishing off your pizza:
1. Preheat the oven to approx. 200°C on upper/lower heat.
2. Half the dough and roll it out on the work surface.
3. Put the pizza dough onto a piece of grease proof paper on a baking tray and spread the pizza sauce onto it. Be careful not to spread too much sauce over the pizza dough otherwise it will become soggy.
4. Put your chosen toppings onto the pizza. For the ghost shapes on the pizza, you need to shred the mozzarella into uneven pieces.
5. Leave the pizza to bake for around 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Cut the black olives into small pieces, which will be used for the eyes and mouth. You can also use the olives to make little spiders. Take an olive and cut it in half to make the body and the olive rings can be used to make the spider's legs. Finally, put these works of art onto the baked pizza.

Bear in mind that...
If you aren’t a big fan of olives, you can cut up some green peppers, courgette, aubergine or chilli instead.

Halloween themed drink: fruity Halloween punch with a ghost’s hand
You can prepare this non-alcoholic Halloween punch in no time at all by using some delicious fruit juices. This unique Halloween fruit punch with a ghost’s hand made of frozen fruit juice will give your fruit punch a very individual spooky look.
Ingredients:
1 litre orange juice
1 litre mango juice
1 organic lemon
750 ml mineral water
5 organic oranges
Red coloured fruit juices such as: cherry juice or blood orange juice
Disposable gloves, which are powder-free, food-safe and ideally non-plastic
Method:
1. First make the ice cube ghost hand. Fill a disposable glove with a red coloured fruit juice, firmly close it with an elastic band and put it into the freezer for several hours until it is thoroughly frozen. Please note that sugary drinks like fruit juices will need more time to freeze than water.
2. Next grate the zest of one lemon and two oranges. Then squeeze the juice out of the grated fruits and take another two oranges and squeeze those as well.
3. Cut the last orange into strips.
4. Put the orange and mango juice, the freshly squeezed fruit juice and the zest into a bowl and leave to cool in the fridge for around 2 hours.
5. Before serving the Halloween punch, add the mineral water and garnish the punch with orange slices and some mint leaves if you’re a fan of mint.
6. Take the frozen gloves out of the freezer and carefully cut the rubber glove open. Add the frozen "ghost hand" to the punch as a substitute for ice cubes to add a spooky Halloween touch to your punch.
