C&A launches world’s most sustainable denim: Cradle to Cradle Certified™ at Platinum level
Dusseldorf / Berlin, 31 January 2020 – In keeping with C&A’s pioneering spirit and commitment to driving innovation in circular fashion and sustainability, the fashion retailer is proud to announce another world’s first with ‘Beluga Denim’ – the first fabric ever to be awarded Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Platinum. Beluga Denim is currently the only fabric certified at this level worldwide by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. The fabric will be introduced at the world’s leading Cradle to Cradle event today, the C2C Congress 2020 in Berlin.
C&A commits to 30% reduction of CO2 emissions by 2030
Dusseldorf – 3 February 2020. Fashion retailer C&A announced that it received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for absolute reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 30% across all scopes. C&A’s science-based target (SBT) approval marks yet another milestone in the company’s sustainability journey to reduce CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions by sourcing more sustainable materials and a responsible management of its supply chain environmental performance.
C&A sustainability efforts recognised by leading environmental NGO
Düsseldorf, October 31, 2019. C&A has been recognized for its leadership in environmental supply chain management by China’s most influential environmental NGO, the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE). In this year’s Corporate Information Transparency Index (CITI), C&A ranks third out of 80 apparel and textile brands and fourth overall of 438 companies across all industries.
C&A Ranked 4th out of 200 in Fashion Transparency Index
Dusseldorf, April 24th, 2019 – ‘Fashion Revolution’ has published its ‘2019 Fashion Transparency Index’, ranking C&A as No. 4 amongst the world’s 200 biggest global fashion brands and retailers. Fashion Revolution is a not-for-profit global movement that campaigns for systemic reform of the fashion industry with a focus on the need for greater transparency in the fashion supply chain.
MUSTANG expands presence at C&A from 60 to 740 sales areas
14 March 2019, Künzelsau/Düsseldorf - MUSTANG and C&A are expanding their partnership.
A test phase started in October last year with the denim specialist’s bestseller Basic products
on around 60 premium zones of the fashion retailer's premises has been concluded with great
success and ahead of schedule. By the end of the year, a further 340 C&A stores with 680
MUSTANG areas - both for ladies’ and men's ranges - are to be opened.
