Düsseldorf, 26th August 2024 - C&A has signed on 22nd July 2024 a legally binding agreement with IndustriALL to support wage increases for workers covered by collective bargaining agreements in Cambodia.
This landmark agreement, accomplished thanks to the facilitation of the ACT (Action, Collaboration, Transformation) initiative, is a milestone in C&A’s work towards wage improvements for garment workers in its supply chain. It sets a precedent for wage increases beyond national minimum wages, and provides support for more mature industrial relations in the industry.
ACT is an initiative composed of IndustriALL Global Union, as a global representative of trade unions in the garment sector, and global fashion brands. As an ACT founding member, C&A believes that a long-term sustainable garment industry requires progress towards living wages, and encourages other brands to also support the signing of collective bargaining agreements in Cambodia.
