C&A Sustainability: Strong Performance Towards 2020 Goals
Dusseldorf, Germany – 21. June 2018 – Global fashion retailer C&A reports strong performance towards its 2020 sustainability goals. In its new ‘2017 Global Sustainability Report’, the company announces its achievements and commitments with focus on its products, its supply chain and employees.

C&A signs UN Women's Empowerment Principles
On the occasion of International Women's Day, Alain Caparros, CEO C&A Europe, described C&A’s commitment to gender parity as a key principle of the company’s culture. “Gender parity and women's empowerment are extremely important to C&A. Women are the driving force behind the apparel industry and our brand: 80% of our employees are women, and approximately the same percentage is true of the workers in our supply chain and the customers who shop with us. The WEPs will guide us to further implement gender parity throughout our organisation and supply chain.”
C&A signs up to Prince of Wales Global ‘Sustainable Cotton Communiqué’
Global fashion retailer C&A has joined the Prince of Wales global ‘Sustainable Cotton Communiqué’. The pledge had been initiated at last year’s Textile Exchange Sustainability Conference and commits apparel brands and retailers to only procure more sustainable cotton . So far, 37 major companies in the fashion industry have signed up to the pledge.
Launch of the first #WearTheChange C&A Collection
Duesseldorf, 8th of February 2018 – C&A is launching the new campaign #WearTheChange and offers more sustainable collections for the whole family: Like the Gold level Cradle to Cradle Certified™ T-Shirts which are made out of 100% Bio Cotton and produced with renewable energy, better water management as well as advanced water cleaning technologies. Another example of C&A’s more sustainable #WearTheChange collection are jeans made with recycled cotton and jackets produced of recycled polyester, both reducing the waste production as well as the use of virgin raw materials.
