Dusseldorf, 2 December 2020 – C&A announces that Aleix Busquets Gonzalez has been promoted to Director Global Sustainability, effective as of 1 December 2020.
In this role, he will oversee the implementation of C&A’s global sustainability strategy, drive its European sustainability programmes and ensure alignment with the brand’s sustainability activities in Brazil, Mexico and China.
Dusseldorf, 29 October 2020 – C&A lives up to its commitment to do its utmost to support apparel suppliers during the COVID-19 crisis. C&A has ensured 100% compensation for all orders previously put on hold and has been placing new orders despite the economic headwinds the fashion industry is facing across Europe.
C&A guarantees payment of all pre-corona orders that were in shipment, already produced or in production, at the original price and according to agreed payment terms. In addition, suppliers are compensated for all pre-corona orders for which production had not yet started, either financially or by placing new orders utilizing raw materials that had already been purchased.
C&A reports progress in reducing its carbon and water footprint by sourcing more sustainable cotton and cellulosic fibres
Düsseldorf, Germany, 15 October 2020 — C&A’s ongoing commitment to sourcing more sustainable cotton and cellulosic fibres has avoided more than 116,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions in its supply chain during 2019. During the same year, C&A avoided nearly 1.1 billion cubic metres (m3) of water — the equivalent of 440,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools , thanks to sourcing organic and Better Cotton, as well as sustainable cellulosic fibres.

The sale is an opportunity to accelerate the growth of one of Europe’s most sustainable, reputable and enduring retail brands within the Chinese market, leveraging possibilities driven by urbanisation and mass market adoption of fashion trends.
C&A AG appoints new CEO and CFO to lead its European business - New Non-Executive Director joins board
Zug, Switzerland, 17 August 2020 – The Board of C&A AG is pleased to announce several senior leadership appointments within its European business:
• Giny Boer will join C&A Europe as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 January 2021, with handover starting 15 September 2020. She will be replacing Edward Brenninkmeijer, currently CEO of C&A Europe and CEO of C&A AG who will step down from both roles on 31 December 2020. Edward Brenninkmeijer has been invited and has accepted to join the Board of C&A AG as Non-Executive Director, effective 1 January 2021.
• Birgit Kretschmer will join C&A Europe as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She will take over on 1 January 2021, replacing Ralf Senden who has expressed his wish to explore career options outside C&A and will step down from his role on 31 December 2020.
• Eric Andrew Brenninkmeijer has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Clusters/Countries Officer, effective immediately. In this role, he will have the oversight of all C&A stores across Europe, in addition to his current role as Director of Country C&A Germany.
• Maëlys Castella joined the Board of C&A AG as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee on 1 July 2020.
