Community Impact through Employee Giving: Call for Proposals

At C&A, we want to inspire you every day not just to look good, but to feel and do good too.

Our longstanding community impact programme channels COFRA Foundation funds towards non-profit organisations nominated by C&A co-workers. We leverage our employee knowledge of local needs, boosting the effectiveness of grants and giving employees opportunities to engage more deeply with their communities.

The aim of our community giving programme is to contribute to reducing social inequality and promote better opportunity in countries where we operate our retail business. A limited dedicated percentage of our programme funds and in-kind giving are reserved to support humanitarian efforts in crisis situations.

We are giving our employees opportunities to nominate projects for funding relating to one of the following two priorities:

  • social mobility for youths aged 15-24 experiencing multiple disadvantages

  • psychosocial support and economic  empowerment of women subjected to violence

Priority is given to projects benefitting youths belonging to underrepresented and historically marginalised ethnic groups and youths from underserved communities.

The type of organisations that can benefit from the programme grants are non-profit, public benefit organisations with a tangible track record in the subject areas mentioned above.

The programme can support organisations from any of C&A’s market countries: Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Romania, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain.

If you are an organisation eligible for the grant, please reach out to a C&A co-worker or a store in your area.

As a nominator (C&A co-worker) – Reach out to the Equity, Inclusion and Human Rights department at: equity@canda.com to discuss your nomination and next steps.

As an organisation – Project applications (Project Proposal document below) must be submitted in English by a member of the organisation and follow the format of the proposal. Incomplete applications or applications providing vague answers will be disqualified. Your organisation must create a Benevity account. Applications from organisations not willing to create a Benevity account cannot be considered.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, so if you are a nominator or an applicant, proceed as soon as possible, before the yearly budget is exhausted.

A requested amount per project can vary between € 25.000 - 70.000. There will be a 2.9% fee for Benevity from the total amount of the grant.

Project duration: 6 - 12 months; project implementation: 2024 - 2025.

Our grant contribution should not constitute more than 30% of the annual budget of the recipient organisation. 60% of requested funds must be spent on direct project activities / non-salary-related costs.

Requests for support of humanitarian causes are reviewed based on internal employee references. Priority is given to initiatives involving C&A employees volunteering.
