The Head of Enterprise Risk Management is pivotal in establishing and overseeing strategies to assess the risk exposure of the company and its risk appetite, and to mitigate risks, ensuring compliance, and fortifying internal control mechanisms. This role is an important pillar in C&A’s compliance setup and significantly contributes to safeguarding the organization's assets and maintaining operational integrity.

Your responsibilities

This role will offer the opportunity to:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the risk management framework, policies, and procedures.

  • Lead and guide a team of risk managers in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across various operational domains.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align risk management strategies with business objectives.

  • Facilitate the definition of adequate minimum internal controls and ensure proper documentation; Oversee internal control processes, ensuring they are robust, effective, and compliant with regulatory standards.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments, monitor risk exposure, and devise mitigation strategies.

What you bring

We are keen to speak to those with a strong blend of the following:

  • Profound understanding of risk management methodologies, internal control frameworks, and compliance standards.

  • Strong experience of Business Continuity planning and Crisis Management

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of leading teams effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and devise appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally and convey complex risk-related information effectively

  • Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory environments and implement best practices accordingly.

  • Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in German would be a strong asset.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CRMA) would be advantageous.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
