Your responsibilities
- Manage REACH and restricted chemicals within C&A, and establish a formal strategy to make sure C&A
is legally compliant - Be and act as the lead expert in all chemical / product safety and textile labelling related topics in the
QMTS team to maintain that there is no risk for our customer and the brand C&A - Lead and provide expert input for new product development under consideration of best practise and
market trends to manage deliverables are met - Represent and attend industry committee meetings on behalf of C&A and be aware of upcoming
chemical related developments in the market to manage C&A is up to date and is able to influence
statements to the government - Deliver support and provide data in response to any questions from authorities or non-governmental
organisations (NGO's) in regard to our products to manage compliance - Be responsible for providing training to QMTS and business units and suppliers to upskill knowledge
in C&A product and reduce risk of non-compliance - Manage proactive input into sustainability and technical requests so that C&A is always informed on the
latest status. - Lead projects as and when required and manage cross-functional collaboration
What you bring
- Strong chemical knowledge and background in textile Industry
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience, preferably in retail
- University degree in chemical engineering or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of textile testing with main emphasis on chemical related quality standards, test
methods and procedures - Knowledge of market legislations and regulations where C&A is distributing to.
- Extensive knowledge of laboratories testing procedures
- Extensive working knowledge of chemicals, where they are presented and how tested in consumer
products - Excellent knowledge of the use of chemicals in the textile industry at production and how this can be
minimized while taking the environment into account - Extensive knowledge of fabrics, garments, accessories or footwear and the associated quality/safety
legislation that impacts C&A in the retail countries - Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Fluent in English
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, PDM/PLM (Product Data Management/Product Lifecycle
