Together we are strong

Individual responsibility and teamwork are writ large at C&A.

If it is to operate effectively, an enterprise the size of C&A is no place for "lone wolves". We need team-oriented colleagues to work together towards one goal, namely the success of the company as a whole. We believe contented employees are also more efficient and that is why we entrust our staff with as much responsibility as possible for the field in which they work.

And good performance is, of course, also rewarded. This is why C&A has launched a Europe-wide, cross-departmental bonus system that is of benefit to each and every member of staff. Each store is set individual bonus targets, which they have a realistic chance of achieving. For those at management level there is a variable, performance-related bonus scheme.

Total commitment to a good working atmosphere

At C&A there are many ways to resolve conflict.

As in any other enterprise, differences of opinion between employees or between employees and their superiors cannot always be avoided. To deal with such cases, C&A has put in place an effective complaints management system. Any employee who feels discriminated against or compromised or hurt in any other way has the right to bring their concern to the attention of a member of the management in full confidentiality – if wished in the company of a colleague of their choice. In addition, C&A complies with all legal provisions to enable employees to join an organisation of their choice which represents the interests of employees. Fairness and mutual trust are fundamental aspects of our actions. To guarantee this, C&A has established the Fairness Channel through which affected employees can make direct contact with selected, specially appointed confidants.

Following such training, each of them has the same chance of further training, and the same chance of career advancement.
