Since 2000, C&A has brought affordable quality fashion to a new country nearly every year.
With over 170 years of history, C&A has a lot of important dates to remember. For instance, in 1960s we were one of the first high-street companies to sell the bikini as well as we stocked the mini-skirt. 1991 we proudly returned to the former East Germany. In 2006, we opened our 1,000th store.
We have a strong focus on business in Western Europe, and our recent expansion and store-redesign efforts have solidified our leading role. At the same time, we have assertively expanded into Eastern Europe and the Balkans to meet the growing need for style and quality at a good price.
In 2008, we opened our first carbon-neutral store in Mainz. And in 2013, we opened our first flagship concept store. Here are some other ‘firsts’, as well as an overview of our European operations.

We are now also a major online retailer in nearly all of our markets. So customers can always find a C&A location close to home 24/7!
We operate online shops in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland and Spain. Furthermore, with our new launched EU Shop we serve Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The EU Shop also serves four countries, where we do not have physical stores: Denmark, Finland, Greece and Sweden.
