Data governance is more than just data quality – it is an important business lever and therefore we are growing our team to stay ahead of the curve for the relevant data developments.
This role can be based in our head office in Düsseldorf or Amsterdam.
Your responsibilities at C&A:
Set standards and policies for Data Ethics Governance needed to clarify how data should be managed across the organisation, e.g., regarding Customer Data, Employee Data, to reach ethical and quality objectives
Define the end-to-end data governance model including clearly defined roles and responsibilities, ways of working and OKRs/KPIs to be able to measure the outcome
Proactively facilitate and oversee the work of business leaders while setting clear data definitions and data quality measures on key data objects and implementing these in business flows, in order to secure the needed ways of working with data
Put requirements on data management tools that are provided by IT in order to ensure quality objectives are met
Develop and enforce data quality metrics outside of the data warehouse
Lead, coach and develop a team of Data Managers, ensuring assigned teams understand the overall direction, vision, delivery process and responsibilities for any given initiative, as well as securing a high performance
Develop and communicate the values of data governance to the organisation, ensuring awareness and ongoing adherence to the governance policies and processes agreed
Promote best practice in data governance and continually benchmark against industry standards in order to validate and improve deliverables
What we expect from you
University degree in relevant area or equivalent
Minimum 8-years of business experience in data ethics/governance
Experience in establishing and continuously improving of data governance principles, frameworks and strategies
Experience with data quality automation and other technical data governance solutions
A good understanding of information management practices including information lifecycle management, data modelling, master data management
An understanding of relevant statutory frameworks applying to data governance such as the (eg Data Protection Act)
Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create clear requirements, specifications and documentation
Strong ability to communicate embed information, business process and system wide changes to a technical and nontechnical audience
Minimum 5 years of team leadership experience
Proficient spoken and written English with persuasive communication skills
