External Communictions Manager (Benelux)

We are looking for an ambitious individual to join our growing European Communications team as an External Communications Manager. This role is based in Brussels and we fully support remote or hybrid working

Your responsibilities at C&A:

• Take ownership of external communications for C&A for the Benelux region (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg)
• Establish and develop a great network and close relationships with key economic outlets and journalists in the the Benelux region
• Build dialogue with relevant NGOs in close collaboration with the Sustainability department
• Work closely with the team in Implementing the C&A Europe Communication strategy across the region 
• Place the Management Team in important media in these countries, on conferences etc. and constantly seek speaker opportunities
• Ensure corporate messages are communicated in a clear, timely and effective manner to all relevant internal and external audiences
• Strengthen the image of C&A in these countries through continuous messaging with all relevant stakeholder groups
• Support social media communications, in particular LinkedIn and Twitter communication
• Support the headquarters in crisis communication issues

What we hope for from you: 

• Experience dealing with local journalists and media, ideally within the Benelux region (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg)
• Very good knowledge of English, French and Dutch is desirable
• A strong career to date of working within corporate communications with an ideal focus on external communications, although those with experience in both internal / external will be considered
• A degree in Communications, Press and Public Relations, Journalism or a related field would be advantageous
• Highly developed communication and organizational skills as well as experience in planning and implementing projects and events
• Experience with media evaluation methods and coverage reporting
• Ability to work collaboratively across complex international organizations
